I purchased this hair steamer in hopes of softer more hydrated hair. After getting the hang of the assembly and operation, it's not too bad for its price point. I think after a few regular uses I should see some vast improvements. Updates to come inshallah...

You know I love me some Aunt Jackie's!! This leave-in Detangling Moisturizer is no different. I use this on my kids to refresh their hair between washes and they thank me for it. This product has actually made me enjoy combing my girl's hair. There is a whole list of goodies in this product and also Sulfate, Paraben, Mineral oil and Petrolatum free! Detangling is tearless and so is braiding. I actually braided faster and neater with this. The price point on Knot Havin' It! is very reasonable also. The only tears on wash day will probably be if I run out of this wonderful pink deliciousness lol!
This product is heavy on the pocket but WOW, amazing! The moisture for 4a/b/c hair is absolutely impeccable. This is an investment worth making. I used this products to refresh some single braids and left my hair supple and ALIVE! First I drenched my hair in the shower then did the LOC method, using this as the Cream and JBC as the Oil. As pricey as this is, I will definitely be a repeat customer. I should have known this product would deliver, because the Coconut Co-Wash swept me off my feet!
Here is another company that sells Jamaican Black Castor oil. The bottle that I purchased claims that it is the only brand approved for export by the Jamaican government. They also have one that is "Extra Dark". This means it contains a very high ash content ~ which means, more good stuff. My edges are getting scanty so inshallah I will try using this more often to see if I see any more results. Men can also use this in their beards to fill in any missing spots or to encourage length and thickness.
This is an old favourite. I use this conditioner as a leave-in, as a detangler, and sometimes as a co-wash. This product claims to be cone's free. I'm not very versed on the the cone's and stuff, but I do know this product works really well with my hair. It smells great and it very cheap.
I decided to try another oil. I felt kinda guilty like I was betraying my coconut oil and my Jamaican Black Castor Oil lol. After the Coconut oil left my hair a bit dryer in the winter, I had no other choice. Jojoba oil is very similar to the sebum oil that our scalp and skin produce. This oil also penetrates the hair shaft similar to coconut oil. This is another favourite of mine. It has a lot of slip, and is not sticky like the Jamaican Black Castor Oil, but leaves your hair (and skin) feeling supple and hydrated. After wudu, I put a few squirts in my hands then, rub across the strands as a refresher. a little goes a long way.
This product is the TRUTH... lol. The only issue I have with this product is that there isn't enough in the jar. Seriously, I thought I would have to relax my hair due to the dryness and brittleness. The winter months have done a number on my tresses. After trying this product... oooh la la!! My hair was so moisturized, fluffy and touchable. I section out my hair, then apply the co-wash (better done outside of the shower) then leave it for a few minutes (depending on how distracted I get, might be longer). While I have it in, I finger detangle. I get in the shower and rinse the product out then condition and detangle again as normal. Then I style as normal. The product is not cheap, but to me, it's definitely worth it. My hair feels, clean, soft and lush!
For my twists (favourite go-to style) I felt like trying something new, outside of my regular routine. This product smells great and I didn't really have any issues with it, like flaking or clumping. However, I did find it unnecessary for my twist styles. If I were attempting a twist-out perhaps it would give me more definition, but I usually do twist outs after my twists get old and it's almost wash-day. I also tried slicking down my hair while attempting a puff. The product is somewhat dry, but with my hair texture I didn't find it gave me much hold and felt sticky after a while. Even after tying my hair with a scarf to achieve flat slick edges... this was a fail. I guess that's not it's intended purpose. Maybe if I were to attempt a wash n' go I would enjoy the product more, but wash n' go's don't really suite my crazy life style hehe...
I decided to try this Moisturizing and Softening conditioner, and was pleasantly surprised! My curls were soft and a bit elongated. This product never felt sticky, or tacky. It left lasting moisture, but not very much shine. I find it comparable to Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in. Over all, this is a product I will buy again if for some reason I can't get my hands on some Cantu. I recently purchased this product as a substitute because my original favourite Kinky Curly Knot Today was sold out. Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch was half the price and there isn't much difference when it comes to detangling. I really enjoy the smell of Kinky Curly but my pocket definitely prefers Aunt Jackie's.
