I love two strand twists. It's so easy to do and does not take that much time. For me it lasts a long time, even with making wudhu and ghsul. I even freshen it up through out the day with a bit of coconut oil or Black Jamaican Castor oil.
It doesn't look bad under my hijab. It is not as flat as some styles but to me it's not a big deal. When I'm twisting my hair I do a small braid at the root, then continue with the two strand twist. This makes the root much flatter and look neater. When the style starts to get a bit fuzzy, I unloose them with oil on my hands, then have a nice twist-out. The twist-out lasts another few days, then it's time to restyle again.
