Oh it's wash day…yep. You better make sure you cooked for two days yesterday, make salat before you start and keep your wudu. And if homeschooling… yeah, today is independent learning day. Am I right or am I right?
Usually, I pre-poo with virgin Coconut Oil. I just section out my hair and rub it in really well all over. Then I usually occupy my self for the next hour or so to let it all penetrate the hair shafts. Then, in the shower I make sure my hair is completely saturated with water before rubbing a large amount of conditioner in. I rub the conditioner in just as though it were shampoo, then leave it for a couple of minutes. I only use shampoo about once or twice a month and I find this method leaves my hair very soft and moisturized. After a couple of minutes, I wash out the conditioner, then apply Kinky Curly Knot today and use a super wide toothed comb to detangle. After detangling, I lightly blot out the water from my hair. Then, I add some Cantu Leave in conditioner and Black Jamaican Castor Oil especially to the ends of my hair. I then section off my hair with clips or hair ties and I'm ready to style! My styler is usually Aunt Jackies Curl La La. I'm loving this styler. I used to use Eco Styler Gel, but I found it not to be moisturizing and the product would dry out before I finished styling.
Mashallah I have thick 4b hair I think… according to the hair charts I've seen. I don't really go by those charts I just do trial an error so to speak. The hair charts are very vague. Someone can have 4b hair but it may be thin and the products used by someone with thick 4b hair with low porosity may not have the same effect. So experiment and find what works for you.
Yes! I have to mentally and physically prepare myself to wash my hair lol. The day before I wash I make my black tea hair rinse and get my oils together that I deep condition with. I usually co-wash my hair with a mix of different conditioners I have in the house. I then rinse my hair with black tea to reduce shedding and strengthen the hair. After that I deep condition with Shea moisture restoration conditioner and my own homemade deep conditioner mix I make up. Finally I rinse my hair and add my own leave in conditioner and detangle my hair and let it air dry in big braids.

That sounds like an amazing routine. Is the black tea any special kind? How much of it do you use to rinse? How long is the tea steeped before it's ready?

No sis...it's just plain old Lipton tea lol I let it brew overnight. It darkens the hair a tad bit but that fades away quickly.
